How does A.M.S. work ?
A.M.S. locates the main 'reporting' software on one computer on a network. It distributes 'client' monitoring software onto computers on a network that you wish to monitor. You are limited on the number of computers by the 'license package' that you purchase.
Does A.M.S. work on older computers ?
Yes, it does. The client software is quite small and runs efficiently in the background at all times. There is also a facility in the software to change the level of detail reported, as well as the monitor scan interval time to relieve cpu usage.
What are the requirements for the computers to run A.M.S ?
Computer clients (i.e. the computers being monitored) can run any combination of Windows 98, NT, Me, 2000 or XP and all of their variants. The 'Server' computer (which runs A.M.S ) can be the same.
We wish to monitor 50 computer on our network which includes a total of 125 computers. Which license package do we need ?
You only need to purchase a licence package that covers the number of computers that you wish to monitor. In this case AMS100 (21 - 100 computers)
We have purchased AMS100 (21-100 computers) that we use with 55 computers. We have since bought another 15 computers bringing our total to 70. Do we have to upgrade ?
No. Your existing license covers you up to 100 computers. Simply deploy the A.M.S. client software to your new computers.
We have purchased AMS 100 (21-100 computers) that we use with 40 computers in one school laboratory. We plan on installing another 35 computers into another laboratory which is on a separate network to the existing one. Do we have to upgrade?
Yes, as the the new computers are on a separate network to your existing one, they cannot be monitored under the existing licence package. You will have to purchase another AMS100 to monitor the new computers or combine the new network with the old.
We have AMS20 with 18 computers. We plan on adding another 10 to the same network. What do have have to do to monitor all 28 computers.
You will have to upgrade your licence package to AMS 100 which will allow you to monitor up to 100 computers. The price of this upgrade would be AMS100 less AMS20 that you have already purchased. Contact us directly to carry out these upgrades.
