A.M.S. is controlled by the Network Administrator maintaining two lists. The first List is the Filtered Events List.

Filtered Events - events which are to be filtered out from being reported. The Client software on each local computer will ignore these events and will not report them to A.M.S. Server. This minimizes network traffic as well as eliminating unwanted events from the Event List in A.M.S. Server.

The Filtered Events List is 'read' by A.M.S. Client everytime it starts (i.e. a User logons on) or more often if this option is set in the Client Configuration.

To add events to A.M.S., simply highlight the Event in the Event List window in A.M.S. Server. Click on the 'Add to Filtered Events Button'. NB: Entries in Filters are an 'exact match' to events recorded by A.M.S. As most Network Administrator's requirements vary so widely, we supply A.M.S. with blank lists for Filters. These are entries that are typical of what can be included in the Filtered Events List.
